This question brings to my mind the high school days when I couldn’t use my mobile phone at school. At that time, my school had a weird rule that students should hand in their own mobile phone to teachers until all of classes finish were finished. When I heard this rule, I really shocked, because I’ve never imagined me myself stay away from my cellphone. Naturally, most of friends were bent on opposing for defending their phone. However, teacher accounted for why school made that restriction. The main reason was that it could be a drag on studying and teacher said schools have a duty to control the factors that may interfere with getting good grades in our academic performances. Unavoidably, I had no choice but to follow school regulations. Honestly, I was really upset because I thought the person who desires to study do it regardless of the presence or absence of a mobile phone and this school rule was just an infringement of student's freedom. Fortunately, a year later, I regained my freedom. To tell more details, because of this regulation, my classmate, YEJI, missed her grandmother’s phone call just before she died. This incident made my friends and me, even teachers realize that a cell phone is not just a distraction pleasure and entertainment, but a necessary thing in an emergency. Since then, I have never been forced to cannot use mobile phone but I don’t want to experience the same situation again.
