1. Do you work or study?
- I'm currently a student. Actually, I am preparing for my master's degree abroad. Thus, I'm studying English these days.
2. What are you studying? / What subject are you taking?
- In fact, my major is architectural engineering. Due to that, I am interested in a postgraduate course which is relevant to/about construction materials.
3. Why did you choose to study that major?
- Well, since I was young, I've been interested in interior design. In order to know about that, I thought I should know more about house architecture. After learning architecture, I think this major fits me well. It's really interesting.
4. What do you find most interesting about your subject?
- Structure methods of buildings are intriguing for me. Even though building design is tricky to build, it can be possible to construct if I find the suitable way.
5. What's the most difficult part of your study?
- Well, everything is difficult but especially reinforced concrete and steel structures make me study hard. They demand my math skill on solving problems to make building safer. However, I'm uncomfortable with math so I always struggle to study them.
6. What do you like most about your school?
- My university has a lot of merits, but my favorite one is the scholarship system. Many students who find it hard to pay tuition can get scholarships in various ways such as grades, sponsorship services or club activities which are helpful in their student life.
7. What part of school/university life do you like best?
- Well, I like club activities. I joined a studying club for my major. Thus, I can get helpful information from seniors and also hang out with club members. That makes my university life fun.
8. What is the educational system like in your country?
- In Korea, the educational system is a bit excessive for students. For instance, during the school years, students stay at school from 8 am to 5 pm and go to private educational institutes. Then, they have no time to do other activities except studying.
9. What are your future study plans?
- I'm preparing for my master's degree in Australia. Thus, I'm studying English these days and I hope to get a job which is related to my major there.
10. What kind of job would you prefer after graduation?
- Well, I want to be employed for construction manager. It requires quite higher abilities because the safety level in construction sites depends on them. Thus, I have to study harder.
11. Why are you taking the IELTS test?
- I'm preparing for my master's degree abroad. For enrollment in graduate school, an IELTS score is essential and also needed for living abroad.

Well, in Korea, many students tend to go for optional subjects such as computer sciences, engineering, nursing medicine, just to name a few. The main reason for this is because these majors guarantee direct employment since they are currently in demand.
